The first HYROX race in Japan in 2027 is Osaka (INTEX Osaka) on Jan 21–25. Singles is JPY 27,500 and already on sale. Next is Nagoya (Port Messe Nagoya) on Apr 16–18, with tickets still to come. Some divisions run on set days only, for example Pro and Relay on Friday only.

The Shoe Nerd's top pick

Before you sign up, check which day your division runs. Osaka runs for five days, but Singles Pro and Relay are Friday only, and Pro Doubles is Saturday only. If you clear your schedule first and pick a division later, the one you can make may be gone.

Even at a five-day event, your division may run on just one day. Friday is Jan 22 and Saturday is Jan 23. Whether you need to take a weekday off depends on your division.

I've covered the differences between divisions in the how to choose a division article. In Relay, each person does 2 km of running and two stations.

Past races in Japan (2025–2026)

The race list on the official results site shows Yokohama 2025, Osaka 2026 and Chiba 2026 as Japan races. Osaka 2026 was held at INTEX Osaka from Jan 30.

I haven't been able to confirm the exact dates and venues for Yokohama and Chiba on official pages.

From sign-up to race day

  1. On the official ticket page, choose your division and time slot and buy.
  2. On race day, bring a photo ID and your booking confirmation to check-in.
  3. At check-in, pick up your timing chip, bib and wristband.
  4. Put the chip on your ankle and start at your assigned time.

Starts are staggered in waves. Starting outside your assigned time means disqualification. Leave plenty of time to get to the venue.

You must be 16 or older on race day. There's no time limit and no qualifying requirement.

What to get before the race

Any closed-toe shoe is allowed; there are no brand rules. Gloves and knee sleeves are fine too. Earphones are not allowed. More in the race-day packing list article.
