The GronG Fit-in Pack 10 is a 10L running pack that is enough for commute runs and long road training. The deciding points are about 290g, JPY 4,980 and the short-made 40cm shoulder straps. Released Sept 19, 2026, it fits a 13-inch laptop, and a bottle is not included.
The Shoe Nerd's top pick
The Fit-in Pack 10 is a pack where you read "40cm" before the price. The maker set the shoulder straps at 40cm and made them straight with little curve. The excess strap that smaller people had on packs built for Western bodies is made short from the start. You do not choose it because it is cheap. Someone whose straps were slack and bouncing chooses it to remove 1 cause.
Key points
- Price per 1L is JPY 498. About 0.55 times the Montbell 15L (JPY 913), the lowest in this site's table
- The bottle is not included and sold separately. The holders are in front of the shoulder straps and on the side of the body, in stretch mesh
- The direct store's page lists a belt to hold a hydration bladder, a hose holder, reflectives and a key strap
Fit-in Pack 10 weight and capacity? The official numbers (the 40cm matters more than JPY 4,980)
The GronG Fit-in Pack 10 is a buy for smaller-framed people who carry gear for commute runs and long road training. The deciding points are 10L, about 290g, JPY 4,980 and the short-made 40cm shoulder straps.
According to the announcement, most beginner running bags are built on Western body sizes, which leads to a lot of bounce for Japanese runners. That is the explanation for making the shoulder straps 40cm.

GronG is a brand of protein and training equipment. The announcement writes it as an "entry" into running. With no previous generation, I chose the comparison partners from the table in this site's article on 12 packs and vests.
Scroll the table sideways →
| Model | Capacity | Weight | Weight per liter | Price per liter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GronG Fit-in Pack 10 | 10L | About 290g | 29.0g | JPY 498 |
| Salomon ACTIVE SKIN 8 | 8L | 213g | 26.6g | JPY 1,788 |
| The North Face TR 10 | 9L | About 305g | 33.9g | JPY 2,774 |
| The North Face One Mile 16 | 16L | About 380g | 23.8g | JPY 997 |
| mont-bell Cross Runner Pack 15 | 15L | 291g | 19.4g | JPY 913 |
The weight is ordinary. 29.0g per 1L is 2.4g heavier than the 8L ACTIVE SKIN 8 and 4.9g lighter than the 9L TR 10 (29.0 − 26.6, 33.9 − 29.0). It is not a number to be surprised at for lightness.
The price is a different story. JPY 498 per 1L is about 0.55 times the Montbell 15L (JPY 913), the lowest in the table of 12 models (498 ÷ 913). Compared by body price with the ACTIVE SKIN 8, the Salomon is about 2.9 times (14,300 ÷ 4,980).
But the conditions are not matched. The Salomon comes with 2 flasks and lets you choose a size like S to XL. The Fit-in Pack 10 has a separately sold bottle. Part of the cheapness comes from having no accessories.
Fit-in Pack 10 and Fit-in Pouch compared (sibling models)
The sibling is the Fit-in Pouch, worn at the waist. It was announced and released the same day in the same announcement.
| Fit-in Pack 10 | Fit-in Pouch | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | A pack you carry on your back | A pouch you wear at the waist |
| Official price (Japan, incl. tax) | JPY 4,980 | JPY 2,980 |
| Weight | About 290g | About 120g |
| Dimensions | About 33cm wide x 44cm high x 15cm deep | About 35cm wide x 20cm high x 2cm deep |
| Numbers that fit the body | 40cm shoulder strap | Belt up to 115cm |
| Guide to what fits | Change of clothes, 13-inch laptop | 6.9-inch smartphone, keys |
| Bottle | Sold separately | Sold separately |
The mechanism that stops the bottle bouncing is the same idea in both. Wrap it in stretch mesh and hook a cord on the cap to stop the up-and-down movement. On the pouch, the holder is set at an angle and a cross belt runs across the bottom.
- Run carrying a change of clothes or a jacket, or run to work → Fit-in Pack 10
- Water, a smartphone and keys are enough → Fit-in Pouch. 170g lighter, and your back stays free
- Want to use the waist in summer and the back in winter → even buying both comes in under a single Salomon ACTIVE SKIN 8 body (see the comparison in the 2 tables above)

Measures against bounce are put in 3 places. Reading the announcement, each deals with a different kind of bounce.
- Strap shape: 40cm, straight. The explanation is that it does not spread outward and is less likely to press on the sides of the torso
- Bottle: a double hold of mesh and a cord hooked on the cap. The cord has a handle and can be removed while running
- Compartment: tighten the bungee cord on the back and you can collapse the compartment on days with little gear. A 10L bag you can make small to fit the contents
The 3rd matters for commute runs. Full with a laptop and a change of clothes on the way there, half on the way back. For someone whose load changes with the same pack, whether the compartment collapses makes the difference. The cord on the back is also a place to tuck a jacket you have taken off.
The small-item pocket is detailed too. It is at the top of the back, with a horizontal zipper. The orientation means the contents do not fall out even if you take off one shoulder and swing the pack to the front.
The direct store's page had 4 entries not in the announcement: 3D mesh on the shoulders and back, edge finishing where the arms touch, reflectives for the night, and a key strap to hold keys. It also has a belt to fix a bladder and a hose holder. For care, it says whole-body washing, with washers, dryers and dry cleaning not usable.
Running 500km a month, I feel gear lifespan is decided by whether it can be washed. So the cheaper the entry-level pack, the earlier I read the care line. That it says it can be washed whole is a big line for people who sweat a lot.
Things to watch
The body-related number is the 40cm shoulder strap. It is a straight shape with little curve, so for a large person, the short strap can backfire.
A bottle is not included. The holder is stretch mesh that "takes slim bottles too."
Soft flask 500ml

Is the Fit-in Pack 10 enough for trails and commuting? Who does it fit?
With the 10L capacity and the items in this site's article on the mandatory gear of 4 trail races, I state it by scenario.
- Commute run: enough. It has a pocket that fits a 13-inch laptop, and a change of clothes still fits in 10L. It is 6L smaller than the One Mile 16 (16L), the commute pick in this site's table, so it falls short for someone who also packs shoes.
- Long road training: enough. A jacket, fuel and a smartphone. For water, prepare a bottle separately and put it in the holder.
- Trails up to 50km: the capacity number reaches. But no flasks come with it, so for races a race vest fits better.
- 100km trail: not enough. For races that require rain top and bottom plus insulation, the base is around 15L.
It fits smaller-framed people whose belts on previous packs were slack. Someone carrying running gear for the first time who wants to try 1 first. For larger chests or trail races, the RUSH 7R or RUSH 11R fit better. For road races with aid stations, or training with only water and a smartphone, a pouch is enough.

Buying from the direct store is the way. The sales channels the announcement lists are online only, and GronG's store on Rakuten is the maker's direct operation. The contact for returns and defects is the company that made it.
For the bottle, think about what you already have before you buy. The holder is stretch mesh, so buy the pack first, put in a bottle you have at home, and buy what is missing afterward, in that order.

How does the GronG Fit-in Pack 10 fit?
The color is black only. The body-related number is the 40cm shoulder strap length (a straight shape with little curve).
As a yardstick, Salomon's vests divide chest sizes from 85cm to 118cm into 5 sizes on the official size chart. Pargo Works' RUSH says 1 size covers a chest of 70 to 100cm. If you have a large frame, hold the strap's 40cm against your own body and think before you buy.
How do I carry water with the Fit-in Pack 10?
The bottle holders are in front of the shoulder straps and on the side of the body. The announcement says the stretch mesh takes slim bottles too.
For people who want to carry a lot of water, there is another route. According to the direct store's page, there is a belt to hold a hydration bladder in the compartment and a part to hold the hose. The bladder is sold separately.
Can the Fit-in Pack 10 be used in trail races?
For a race with mandatory gear, a race vest fits better. Its strengths are long-distance running and commute runs. It was made by a team centered on ultra and trail veterans.
In races with mandatory gear, you carry 1L or more of water, rain gear, 2 lights and so on. For that use, choose a vest whose flask count, capacity and pole attachment are written officially. The Fit-in Pack 10 is 1 pack for training and commuting.
